Heated Desiccant Air Dryers
Heated desiccant air dryers use a desiccant; often activated alumina, silica gel, or another material; to remove moisture from compressed air. The compressed air is channeled through a tower containing the desiccant and the moisture is removed through adsorption before the air is returned to the system for use. A heater is used to dry out the desiccant, thus regenerating it and making it available for further use.
